Continued from Continuing into Inez Borin

As we continued to Inez Borin, I went ahead and disguised Alyson Kincaid and, as we approached the town, we sent the message to Marius' contact that Alyson Kincaid has been killed, assuming that we allowed her plenty of time to get to home before word spread.

The scope of the city was breathtaking, with the seven massive waterfalls flowing from the north splitting the city and pushing out into the ocean to the south, it felt good to be back in a city on the water, it reminded me of home.

Alyson told us that there was a respectable Inn & Tavern called the Knaves Nook that sat on the edge of The Wheels and the Zhaun, letting us know that Greta will take care of us for helping her. She mentioned that if she needs to get in touch with us, she'll send message to the Nook and she told us that it's worth it to make our way to the bridge in the middle of town for a sunrise. We took Alyson and Glory to The Wheels and then headed off to the Nook to drop off our stuff.

We had a meal in the commons room of the Nook, Nocana paid for all of us, which was very nice of him.

Not quite ready to turn in for the night, we went out into The Zhaun to experience the night-life of Inez Borin and relax a little bit. Roshani Folkor found a travel guide for the city, which turned out to be very helpful.

Nocana was interested in trying some of the more... Chemical... Delights of the city. Finding some marijuana to purchase, I helped him roll some and we walked around enjoying the atmosphere. I introduced him to some gambling and we lost some money doing that.

We all traveled back to the Nook, then I snuck out and found a mausoleum that I could spend some time in communing with spirits. Sneaking into the mausoleum of a long-lived elven family, I found an empty slab and spent time meditating and got a night's sleep. I made my way back to the Nook before dawn to join up with the rest of the group to watch the sunrise. Alyson was right, it was a sight to behold.

While on the bridge we hopped into the Temple of Ioun, where Nocana and Roshani Folkor did some things, I don't know, I got kind of bored. I went back to the Nook and dye my hair black and lighten up my skin a bit, adopting the look of Levki Bedrich. I them met up with the group again and we went to the Sun God Temple where I briefly tried to intercept any communications or rewards that were sent to Marius... It didn't work though, so after Yuri asked a bit about becoming a worshiper of the Sun God and decided he needed to think on it, we left.

We found a little farmer's market in Eastern Arches and put together some sandwiches for lunch. Suddenly the massive ship called The Boundless just off the coast exploded! Suddenly people were running everywhere, we jumped into action to see if we could figure out what was going on and if we could help, making our way to the Port District. I climbed the highest building I could find nearby to get a better vantage point of how widespread the chaos was. Asking around, it sounded like this was some sort of conflict between the Kincaid Crime Family and the Mansa Crime Family. We decided to back off a bit and let this play out...

Heading to the Historian's Guild in the Piltover until it all blew over. This was a very interesting place... All of the documents and books in the place seemed to be flying about the room, sorting themselves I guess? We went ahead and checked in to receive our post in Inez Borin, I checked in under my Levki, but there was nothing for me.

Yuri received a letter from his uncle about a man that visited their dwarven village looking for him. Roshani Folkor received a letter from her mom.

Once the fighting calmed down outside, we went out and asked around to see if we could figure out what all happened. It definitely looked like it was a battle between the Kincaid and the Mansa families.

Returning to the Nook, we could tell that there had been an attack that happened here as well. Apparently they had advance warning so they were prepared for the attack.

We ordered dinner and, with it, we received a letter that we were supposed to meet with Greta two hours after sunset. To kill time, we went with Roshani Folkor in search of some blink dog whiskers, we found the guy that would have it, if anyone did... But he didn't have them, however he proposed that we could go gather some for us and him.

Greta introduced us to Boz, her bouncer/bodyguard at the Nook, who led us out into the city and into the Arena (of the Arena District), taking us down into one of the preparation rooms, a broad open area, and then he told us to just wait there and he left.

After some time we were introduced to Marta Kincaid who provided us payment for safely bringing Alyson Kincaid safely back to Inez Borin. She then asked us if we would be interested in performing more work for her as a "shadow hand"... She wants out of the crime business, and, in addition, wants to make sure that her son, Matthias Kincaid, gets out of it as well... Getting her out of the business should be easy, but her son has no interest currently in leaving the crime family, so we'd need to basically assassinate his character to ensure that he is not chosen as the successor. He cannot be allowed to die, and we cannot just kidnap him.

Deciding that we could probably get the job done, we agreed. She gave us some information about him: Where he lives, that he frequents a family-owned tavern with an underground opium den in the Piltover named The Gilded Raptor.

We were paid 100 platinum for services rendered thus-far!

The next day, we got set up with a little house to live in while we're in Inez Borin.Yuri hired a bunch of street kids to watch over our place and keep an eye on Matthias and deliver information.

We began to develop a plan to sabotage some of Matthias's deals between the family and the aristocracy... And we decided to break into his house to gather some information while he is at the opium den.

The next night, Nocana camped out at The Gilded Raptor and watched while Matthias showed up, at which point I went to break into his house. Successfully getting in, I dug through his desk and found some papers:

• A note from Gregorio & Aristo Govann implying a connection to them and that favors were owed.
• A note from someone named Theo requesting an audience.
• Matthias recently exited a relationship with Pelius Abella, a high-elf member of the Historian Guild

Suddenly a magic sword animated and began to attack me! I quickly exited his study and shut the sword in there... Not wanting to engage in a one-on-one with it.

I snuck around the house a bit more, not finding a whole lot.

The next day, Roshani Folkor went to the Historian's Guild where she found that the Govann family/name has long been tied to the royalty of the city... The most likely person named Theo was (until about 20 years ago), a very rich slave trader, though she couldn't really figure out how to track him down.

I went to the 'shadier' parts of town to see if I could get some information too... I got the name Theodocius Gi and that he was definitely not a good person to be associated with. I also found that the Govann's are in somebody's pocket. Gregorio was a General, a position he held not because of ability, but because of relationships.

After all of this, we decided that we should maybe head out of town and find those Blink Dog's for Roshani Folkor while we let things cool off a bit.
