Entry
- it's just before noon, we don't see the mountains, but there are trees
- we know we need to go west southwest
- on our way out (halfway to the forest edge), we see the ritual conclude with a bamf
- we reach the pine copse at around 2-4pm
- and take a short rest in the Rope Trick
- we see a huge orangutan (?) who is curious and chases us a bit
- at night, I recognize that we're at Dunzene's latitude
- I ritually cast Find Familiar, and we long rest inside the Royal Respite
- on our way out of the forest, a large, 20' long cobra (naga?) tries to ambush us with Dominate Person
- we restrain it, but then it bamfs away and escapes
- we leave the trees, and see mountain peaks to the south and rolling plains with fissures to the west
- we see brontosauruses in the distance that I want to ride
- we encounter some Axe Beaks, but use darkness to get away without hurting them
- we see 3 Fire Giants to the north, about 1 mile away, walking parallel to us
- we attempt to disguise horses as we settle down for the night in a ravine
- Nocana uses divination to check if we'll encounter diefic artifacts in our near future - they say there's a good chance
- Nocana also messages Lumis Boneforge and King Djodian, and we learn that 12 days have passed since we started the mission
- he recommends that we befriend the giants to the north or follow the mountains to the south
- During the night, a giant raptor (roc?) attempts to take one of our horses (Rodrick), but drops it when it realizes it's not edible.
