Continued from The Shystone Pillar
Arriving in Lumis Boneforge's study, he greeted us with some small talk and provided a meal.
There were windows, though not real windows, more like magical viewports out into different parts of the world... One showed the mountains, one showed the swamp, and another an island in the middle of an ocean.
After some brief introduction and explaining why we were there, he explained what it would take help Nocana get his memories back. Basically he would need to store all of our memories (supposedly for his own use somehow), and then he would dive into Nocana's brain.
He took each of us, one at a time, and had us sit in a chair where he performed some ritual to take a look at our memories.
In addition to all of this, he mentioned a mistake that he had made at an earlier point, someone that was a student of his that was not using his magic responsibly.
Nocana allowed us all to stay in the room and experience his memories as they were uncovered. It was weird. Apparently, Nocana's Grove (The Lunashim Grove) was kind of set up and protected by a sphinx, though everyone in the village worshipped Sehanine, the Moonweaver. This made the sphinx very angry... It turns out that Nocana had multiple encounters with the sphinx, 7 in total.
I also asked Lumis Boneforge if there was any useful information that he could give me to assure me that I'm on a good path, specifically with my patron and the things we've done for him. He gave me another name that is likely of interest to my patron: Pietri Asano.
So, having received what we came to the The Shystone Pillar for, we decided that we would help Lumis Boneforge with his problem, specifically, a man named Aduin Merrel who lives in Kerinhelm has been abusing the power that he Lumis helped him acquire... He asked us to "Seek him out and set him straight, failing that, eliminate him."
Lumis Boneforge agreed to teleport us near Kerinhelm and gave us some information about the place, specifically that we will not be able to carry our weapons into the town.
We arrived on the road just outside of town, where a farmer saw us appear. We asked if he would be willing to give us a ride into town. Leaving must of our equipment with the cart we decided to head in to town to get some horses, or donkeys, as we ended up finding.
Driving into town, we settled on The Good Knight's Rest as an inn. We found out that we were just a few days journey from Rowan's home, and that he is no longer allowed back there.
We pretty immediately set about looking into Aduin Merrel's life, finding out that he frequents a massage parlor called the Chateu Prima, usually with different women accompanying him.
As we were hanging out, suddenly a box appeared at Roshani Folkor's feet, within was an amulet, a ring, and a note. It turned out to be from someone named Demetrius Stone who was thanking us for getting Matthias Kincaid out of the way in Inez Borin, thanked us for his ascension, and that we are welcome back in the city whenever we would like. The amulet had the symbol of Kronus on it.
That night I sought out a cemetery and meditated, attempting to reach my patron. He showed up and, aware that we defeated Klayt Varie, I mentioned to him that I found out about Pietri Asano, he seemed a little bitter that I figured it out before he told me... But it was fine.
We then went and had a spa day. :D
