Continued from Welcome to Inez Borin

Deciding to let the heat die off a little bit in Inez Borin, we do a little research into some components that Roshani Folkor needs, I believe to duplicate the candle/message trick that Marius was doing. Specifically she needs blink dog hair.

Knowing that we were going to be heading out into the wilderness, I took a moment to commune with the spirits and found the spirit of a ranger named Achedron Shailen who provided me some information about survival...

We spoke to Quincy, the shop keeper that seemed most likely to carry components like those that we need and he mentioned that a person named Bron used to provide those components, but he hasn't heard from him in a while. He feared that it's because many people have found careers in other fields due to labor shortages caused by the war.

While we were at Quincy's shop, we took a look around to see if there is anything else that may be of use, but we didn't really find anything that we needed immediately.

We found that Bron, an upper middle-aged half-orc, had found employment in the stone district as a stone carver, so we tracked him down there. We were able to convince him to give us a bit of information as to the hunting grounds where he used to find blink dogs. The difficult thing, though, is that we have to find points where there is a connection to the Faewild, which moves around the area.

Deciding that we had all that we needed to start the hunt, so we headed out of town. We traveled until around nightfall when we found an inn named The Double Axe, to spend the night in.

We settled down for the night, taking a meal and relaxing. Roshani Folkor went out of town a little bit to test her pocket cannon and blew apart a tree or two.

The next morning we set out on the road again looking for any indication of what we're looking for. Eventually we came up on a cabin in the woods. An old lady lived there that pointed us in the direction of a tree to continue our search.

We went to said tree and all immediately started trying to climb it (except for Nocana)... Not very well, either.

On the ground, a Dryad suddenly appeared to Nocana and he started talking to it. Eventually we all gathered around for a chat and she gave us a chain of additional Dryads to contact to find where we need to go.

We decided to go back to the old lady's cabin for the night and continue our journey in the morning.

Following the trail we quite quickly made it to the area to which last dryad in the chain pointed us... As evening approached, a menacing presence started creeping in on us, provoking fear. After traveling a bit farther we began to notice that something was stalking us. A big horrible looking creature lumbered out of the woods at us and we engaged.

Up the road some people began yelling at us to abandon the fight and come to them... We did a decent amount of damage to it right away, but it didn't seem to affect the beast too much and it jumped away from us... Given the opportunity, we joined the people calling to us. Nearing them we felt ourselves pass through some sort of bubble of protection around the tree. The protection is provided by the Dryad at the tree, named Annalla.

It turns out that all of these people have been trapped near the tree by this creature and now we were too...
